Debut novel by Australian writer

Ria – a spirited loner, and the girl left behind – has waited 12 years for her brother and only friend to return after disappearing across the everstorm as kids. Now it seems her dream is about to come true, but their arrival will strip her of everything she thought her salvation depended on.

FEATHERFOOT is my debut novel, a fantasy story in need of an agent and publisher! Read the first chapter here.

Featherfoot’s story is inspired by a jigsaw of things that captured my imagination around the same period: an empty island; spiders; the roaring 40s; pacific mariners; and missing persons… Read more.

When Kiet was 19 love towed her to sea. He was 22 with blue-blue eyes and just as she hoped, he travelled in front and never strayed. Deep within he knew, she saw, that her safety was his command. He was strong and steady, easy and grand – for he was a bird, as well as a man.

For what it is worth, I sure do want to read on…… why did Burly have to go and be threre and spoil it? I want to know who Oren is and why he meant so much to Ria……I like the idea of little objects washing up to tell her there is another world out there, which makes me wonder where she is and what she is doing there. Lots of mystery and intrigue but I got a clear picture of the sea, wind, turbulence and her predicament.

    Best of luck

    Hi Victoria
what a beautiful story! It really entices your senses. I definitely want more!
Your website is everything you taught us to do! Easy to read and so easy to navigate. But then again I would expect anything less from such an inspirational teacher. I enjoyed reading your bio which was revealing and interesting. Plus I believe it made reading the first chapter of Featherfoot even more intriguing.
I wish all the best and I cant wait to read the rest.
